/ Security and work accident

Safety is very important at INL. In order to ensure that your workplace remains a hazard-free environment and that your health and safety is not compromised, you should have an awareness of the risks that may exist and the safety measures you must follow.

As part of your Onboarding, so that you can learn the importance of health and safety, the Health and Safety Officer will provide you a training on Safety at INL. With this knowledge, you will be fully prepared to recognise hazards and risks and do all you can to uphold health and safety control measures and guarantee yours and everyone else’s wellbeing.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURE

In case of emergency, please stop your activity, remain calm and head towards the nearest Meeting Point (MP) by following the emergency routes/exits and following instructions of security/emergency teams. At the Meeting Point, please pass your card in the control panel to do the Check-out. If, for a particular reason, you don’t have the card with you, please insert your personal MPA/MPE pin code (of 4 digits) in the control panel. Do not abandon the Meeting Point unless you are told to do so. Once you return to the building you should pass the card again in order to Check-in. If you detect or have an emergency situation (fire, hazardous spill, work accident) please call the INL Emergency Number 2500 or 00351 235 140 155 (these numbers are available in your INL access personal card).

Throughout the building you can find first aid kits you can use in order to treat some small injuries (e.g., small cuts). They are usually sealed up but that is only as a mean for the Health and Safety Officer to know if something needs to be restocked.

INL EMERGENCY CARD

INL developed an emergency contact card which main goal is for INLers to always have a way to identify themselves in an emergency situation through the Portuguese Emergency Services. In this card you can find your employee NISS number, your private health insurance policy number and INL’s phone number in case you need someone to contact your family, for example.

This card is to be used outside INL in emergency situations and will be handed to you by HR.

PORTUGUESE EMERGENCY CARD

In Portugal, there’s an emergency card that contains information about the user, such as personal and health data, and which is useful to the emergency response team. It is optional and intended to anyone who is in the country but we advise it especially for those from foreign countries and/or not fluent in the Portuguese language. For more information you can consult: https://www.inem.pt/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Emergency-ID-Card-2018-v2.pdf
